The Michałówka forester's lodge, located only 4 km from Puławy, was chosen as the seat of the newly established factory. During the first 16 months of the station's operation, almost 15.5 thousand liters of serum were produced, thanks to which it was possible to instill the entire population of cattle in Poland, which was at risk of bursar. Thanks to nationwide activities, already in 1922 the disease was considered to be combated, which was undoubtedly a spectacular success not only of the state veterinary services, but also of the main producer of serum - today's Biowet Puławy company.

In response to the growing demand for veterinary medicines, under the regulation of the Minister of Agriculture of December 31, 1951, Puławy Zakłady Przemysłu Bioeweterinaryjnego - Biowet (PZPB Biowet) were established. The modern company has at its disposal buildings and rooms in the main building of the National Veterinary Institute, as well as a complex of buildings with a anti-fumase station in Michałówka. The political changes in Poland created a new political and economic situation, which led to the decision to privatize PZPB Biowet Puławy.
